HAVEN FOR THE HUNTERS

It’s a designer’s heaven in St. Tropez. From the clothing and architecture, to the sculptures and paintings, inspiration is all around. The antique shops are some of the most curated in the country. Priceless items are at every corner and mixing the old with the new is a European way of life. I fall in love with something extraordinary every day.

This photo (above) is from an awesome little shop named Keho. It’s a mod lover’s dream mixed with a prohibition-era charm. There are items ranging from the 1920’s – 1970’s in the tiny gem of a shop, the elephant ash tray being one of my favorites. Nestled on a quiet side street, the place looks like it could be in Soho and is somewhat hard to find. The rusted, metallic sign that hangs above the entrance is also somewhat discreet, so click here for specific location/directions:Keho

The town has rotating historical exhibits that are free and open to the public as well. Pictured above are a pair of Tropeziennes (a St. Tropez fashion staple to this day). These particular pair of sandals belonged to Colette herself (for those of you who don’t know who she is, see here: Colette). Most of the local boutiques still sell the traditional style sandals and the boho-chic (mostly white) vibe of the town produces the perfect atmosphere to explore in a pair of your own (my kind of hippie-chic world).

From anchors and ship wheels, to lanterns and fisherman’s gear, it’s all in St. Tropez’s heart…and mine. I think the tattoo on the back of my neck (an anchor surrounded by 3 stars) exhibits that fairly well, but it’s been invigorating to hunt for new treasures in this seaside town. Nautical themes always provide a sense of adventure and exploration, like a feeling of excitement that’s insatiable. (pictured above La Vieille Mer: La Vieille Mer)

I call her Anica. Just kidding. But, damn do I wish it she were mine. This cinematic beauty is on display right now in a local antique store. I purposely walk by everyday just to take another look. The vintage Italian camera and projector is mesmerizing and I’m totally in love. What I wouldn’t give to have her in my home. I won’t name the place (I’m extremely protective of this little boutique store), but hopefully let you find it while on your own adventure. Happy hunting, mes amis!;)
